What is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy combines the art and science of rehabilitation for functional recovery. In physical therapy, we utilize various modalities to target the neurological and musculo-skeletal system and encourage healing to occur. These modalities can include exercise, manual techniques or physical agents. Depending on your needs, your treatment may include therapeutic exercise, proprioceptive or balance activities or hands-on therapy techniques. Manual techniques such as joint mobilization and soft tissue manipulation are utilized to help restore alignment and circulation. Other external modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation are sometimes included to aid healing.
How can PT help you?
If you have had an injury or surgical procedure that has left you with strength, flexibility or pain issues, we can help restore your function. If you have balance or dizziness deficits or your endurance is not quite what it used to be, we can help you regain your footing. If you have been in an accident, have had a prolonged illness or an on-the-job injury we can help you recover quickly and return to the things you’ve always loved to do. Our goal is to help restore your function and to encourage you to function at your optimal level. We want you to be able to continue to live an active and fulfilling life.
